Welcome to my website

There are many different reasons why you might be looking for help from a psychotherapist. It may be that you are struggling with a difficult life event or are looking for support to help manage a time of transition and change. Maybe there are conflicts within your relationships which have become overwhelming and impossible to work through alone.

What is right for you?

A space in which to think about these problems with a neutral, empathic, non-judgemental professional can be invaluable and make a real difference to how you feel and your ability to cope.  At times like these a course of short-term psychotherapy (anything from 6-24 sessions) in order to focus on a specific issue can help you identify what is happening and support you in making the changes necessary to move forward.

Longer term psychotherapy

On the other hand it may be that you would like to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your feelings, thoughts and emotions.  You may want to make some changes to unhelpful patterns of behaviour or to understand your relationships better. You may have a sense that you are not reaching your full potential either in your personal or working life or both.  Working with a psychoanalytic psychotherapist over a period of time can help you gain an understanding of the present by exploring past experiences and unconscious processes.

What I can offer

As a fully qualified and registered Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist I am able to offer both short-term and long-term psychotherapy to adults.  I have a private practice in Lewes and Tunbridge Wells and worked for several years within the NHS.  I am experienced in working with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues.  My consulting rooms are private, comfortable and quiet; a space where you will be treated sensitively, respectfully and in total confidence.

The therapeutic relationship

In order for psychotherapy sessions to be effective the relationship between you and your therapist is key so it is really important that you find someone with whom you feel comfortable. I understand how difficult it can be to seek help and I aim to help you tap into your own resources rather than impose my own solutions.  In this way you will build a fuller understanding of yourself so that you can manage the challenges of life and the conflicts that relationships inevitably create.

You are very welcome to my website. My aim is to help you find out if I am the right therapist for you.

Please call me on 07962 273717 or email me to arrange an initial consultation where we can decide together how best to meet your needs.
